LOCKPORT — The Lockport teen who was on trial for arson, accused of setting a fire that killed his friend has pleaded guilty to two of the 10 counts against him as part of a plea deal — burglary and arson

The Aug. 10 fire at High Tread International, claimed the life of 14-year-old Joe Phillips. Phillips was in a warehouse on the company’s property along with the teen who was on trial. That boy’s name is being withheld due to his age at the time of the crime: 13.

Among the charges dropped as part of the plea agreement was negligent homicide.
