APPLETON — Looking for the perfect decoration or hostess gift? The Winery at Marjim Manor will host a craft class on March 19, teaching how to take a plain porcelain plate and decorate it.

Attendees will have a choice of poems, flowers, and other decorations. In addition, there will be refreshments “because every good workshop has food,” the winery explains. Included in the $20 cost of the class is a glass of wine for those over 21.

This is the latest in Marjim Manor’s craft series. Usually held on the third Sunday of each month, guests learn different techniques. Purchase tickets for four different classes and receive a 10 percent discount. Classes for 2017 include a lighthouse garden decoration, canvas tree, stenciled wine bag and decorating wine glasses for the holidays. Suggestions for projects are welcome.

The winery also hosts a series of Taste and Paint classes on the second Tuesday of each month. Artist Terri Seddon guides guests through the creation of a work of art. This glass is $40/session and includes all materials and refreshments.
