PENDLETON — Starpoint Central School District has decided not to re-open on Friday due to the wind damage and power outages in Niagara County.

Earlier today, Lockport City School District announced that it would not open on Friday, either.

Starpoint CSD announced on its Facebook page that the high school roof was damaged in Wednesday’s storm. There was minor damage to other areas, as well.

“As a precautionary measure, we will be once again cancelling school for grades K-12 tomorrow, Friday, March 10th,” the notice states. “We are currently working with the District’s architect and structural engineer to ensure the safety of all faculty, staff and students. We thank you for your patience and anticipate school to be open on Monday.”
