TOWN OF LOCKPORT — With the sun going down and the temperature following suit, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and Niagara County Emergency Services are advising residents that the following warming shelters are available to the public at this time:

  • Barker Fire Hall-1660 Quaker Rd. Barker
  • Frontier Fire Hall-2176 Liberty Dr. Niagara Falls
  • Lewiston #2 Fire Co.-1705 Saunders Settlement Rd. Lewiston
  • Olcott Fire Hall-1691 Lockport St. Olcott
  • Rapids Fire Co.-7195 Plank Rd. Lockport
  • Salvation Army-50 Cottage St. Lockport
  • Terry’s Corners Fire Hall-7801 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Gasport
  • Wilson Fire Hall-250 Young St. Wilson
  • Wright’s Corners Fire Hall-4043 Lake Ave. Lockport

All shelters are open until the power is restored in the prospective areas.  Terry’s Corners Fire Co. will be hosting an open meal to the public at 6 p.m.

More than 4,000 people in Niagara County are still without power — primarily on the eastern end of the county. Lockport, Starpoint and Roy-Hart schools have already announced that they will be closed on Friday.
