ALABAMA — New York State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred this afternoon on State Route 77.
Troopers responded to a 2003 Dodge Caravan into a tree shortly before 2 p.m. They determined that a Dodge was traveling northbound on 77 when the 40-year-old operator had a “medical event” that caused the vehicle to exit the east shoulder and strike a tree.
The back seat passenger, Karen Mann, 56 of Batavia was deceased at the scene. The operator and the two other passengers in the car had minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
