Jack R. Maxfield of Wilson, NY, entered into rest on Tuesday March 7, 2017 in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. Jack was born in Canisteo, NY on November 29, 1921, the son of the late Jesse and Marion Jack Maxfield.

Jack served in the U.S. Army during WWII for 3 years in the South Pacific. He taught Instrumental Music for 31 years at Wilson Central School. Jack was active in the Masonic Lodge and district Deputy for many years and a member a Exley United Methodist Church in Wilson, NY.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy Sweet Maxfield, 2 children Paula Smith of Knoxville, TN and Richard (Jane) Maxfield of New Windsor, NY, 2 grandsons Nathan and Jeremy Smith of New York City, 4 step children James (Penny) Tracey, John (Martha) Tracey, Jane (William) Snyder and Judy (Ron) Yaskow, 5 step grandchildren and 4 great step children. predeceased by his wife Pauline Turner Maxfield.
