BUFFALO — University at Buffalo Senior Blake Hamilton has been named MAC East Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.  This was the second time that Hamilton has earned the honor this season.

Hamilton averaged 20.0 points per game this past week as he led the Bulls to a pair of important victories to end the regular season.  On his Senior Night, Hamilton had one of his best games as he finished with 32 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  It was Hamilton’s third 30-point game of the season as he shot 13-of-18 from the floor and 4-of-7 from three. Hamilton added five assists in each of the two wins this past weekend, while also averaging 4.5 rebounds per game.  His 32-point effort gives him 987 points for his career in just two seasons.

The 30-point effort by Hamilton was his third of the season, the most by a UB player since Javon McCrea had three during the 2013-14 season. He enters the postseason sixth in the MAC in scoring, 14th in rebounding and fifth in assists.

Hamilton and the Bulls earned the third seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament and will open play on Thursday night in the MAC Quarterfinals against the winner of tonight’s Kent State-Central Michigan game.
