ROCHESTER — William Robert Rosica, 50, of Irondequoit, was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with stalking and unlawful access to a protected computer. The charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa M. Marangola, who is handling the case, stated that according to the complaint, following the victim (L.M.) decision to end a three-year relationship with Rosica in February 2016, the defendant set out on nearly a year-long campaign to harass and torment the woman.

Between March 2016 and Feb. 28, the defendant reportedly targeted the victim with a barrage of harassing text messages, phone calls, and emails. In addition, the victim’s work email account and online medical system had numerous unauthorized access attempts. Rosica also targeted the victim’s ex-husband and co-workers.

The defendant made an initial appearance this morning before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan W. Feldman and is being held pending a detention hearing on Friday.
