Junior Marie McCool leads the Tar Heels with 11 goals and is tied for the team lead in points with 15. Junior Ela Hazar is tied with McCool with 15 points on six goals and nine assists.

The Griffs and Blue Hens have faceoff against one another on two occasions. Canisius won the first-ever meeting between the teams, 8-4, in 2015 and was defeated by Delaware a season ago by a score of 13-4.

Canisius will play the Tar Heels for the second time in the history of the two programs Sunday afternoon. The teams first met in 2014, with No. 1 North Carolina getting a 24-6 win over the Blue and Gold. The Tar Heels were the defending national champions when the teams squared off in 2014, the only other occasion the Griffs have played a team following a national championship.

After completing the weekend trip, Canisius will return home for a game against Duquesne Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the Demske Sports Complex.
