Walter W. “Doc” Garris, 55, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017.  Born on July 26, 1961 in Elmira, NY, Doc was the son of the late George R. and Jane Marie (Hobart) Garris.

Doc was a carpenter, worked for Smokin Joes for many years and did freelance computer repair.  He prided himself in being a collector of strange and unusual things.  He enjoyed traveling and riding and restoring motorcycles.  Doc loved music, writing poetry and playing his guitar.  He had a great love for his dogs, Baby Girl and Pugsley.  Most of all, Doc found his greatest joy in the time he spent with family and friends.  He was a shoulder to anyone and a stranger to no one.  Doc loved his family, loved his friends and loved his life.

Doc is survived by three children, Stephanie L. (James Fancher) Caskinett, Samantha L. Garris Venne and Robert C. (Sarah Boudreau) Garris; thirteen grandchildren; siblings, Sue (Tom) Fisher, Jennie Hummel, David (Dana) Bush, Juanita Hill and Ellen (Paul) Hald; his former spouse, Nanette (Gauvreau) Bailey and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
