“We wanted to offer an incentive for local businesses to strive for an All WNY Award,” said All WNY News Publisher Scott Leffler. “Obviously, the distinction of being named the best is its own incentive, but we thought we’d offer something more.”
All WNY News & Radio will offer free advertising to award winners going forward. And in an effort to be as fair as possible, we’ll offer free advertising for previous winners, as well.
“Fairness is very important to us,” Leffler said. “From how we do the news to how we promote local events, and of course, how the awards are run. So we decided to go retro-active on this. It only seemed fair.”
Specifically, All WNY News & Radio is giving a $60 advertising credit to businesses that have won awards in the past year and will do so going forward. That equates to two weeks of our most popular display ad for free. Should award winners choose, they could use the credit differently, for a longer duration on a smaller ad or a shorter duration on a larger one. The standard two-week minimum will be waived for this offer. Winners will also have the option to use the advertising credit towards a purchase of advertising … and any current advertisers will simply have the amount deducted from their bill.
In addition to the winners of the non-music awards, All WNY News & Radio will extend the offer to businesses that won select categories in the 7th Annual All WNY Music Awards including Best Venue, Best Open Mic, Best Music Festival, Best Record Store, Best Record Label, Best Recording Studio, Best Music/Equipment Shop, and Best Place to Get Swag.
