DENVER, Colo. – No. 1 Denver used a balanced offensive attack and a stingy defense to remain undefeated on the season as it recorded a 12-0 victory over Canisius in the final game of the Faceoff Classic Sunday at the Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

Connor Cannizzaro (1g, 3a) and Colton McCaffrey (2g, 2a) notched four points apiece to pace the Pioneer attack (4-0).  Austin French finished with three points on a goal and two assists while Jeremy Bosher and Danny Logan tallied two goals apiece for Denver. Junior Liam Ganzhorn recorded seven saves in goal for the Griffs (1-2).

Holding a 1-0 lead after the first quarter, Denver scored five goals in the second quarter, including three in a 1:20 span midway through the frame, to build a 6-0 cushion at the break.

The Pioneers increased their margin to 9-0 with three goals in the final 2:20 of the third quarter before notching a trio of tallies in the fourth to determine the final margin.

Canisius continues its four-game road swing Saturday with a 1 p.m. contest at first-year program Cleveland State.
