Mary Susan (nee Mulvena) Fleck, 64, of Youngstown, NY, passed from this life on Friday, February 24, 2017 at her residence, while under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice and surrounded by her loving family.  Born on November 11, 1952 in Niagara Falls, NY, Mary was the daughter of the late Danny and Marie Sue (Rice) Mulvena.  On May 30, 1981, she married David Michael Fleck in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

Mrs. Fleck was a lifelong area resident.  She attended local schools and graduated from Madonna High School in 1970.  Mary later earned her Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from Niagara County Community College.  Primarily, she was a homemaker, raising her four daughters.

Mrs. Fleck was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church in Youngstown, NY.  Mary was a member of Holimont Ski Club in Ellicottville, NY and Lac Pythonga Club in Quebec.  She loved animals, traveling to Virginia to visit her brother, visiting her four daughters, as well as spending summers in Florida with her parents.  Mrs. Fleck was also known as a talented artist, a proud cook, and she enjoyed gardening.

In addition to her loving husband of over thirty-five years, Mrs. Fleck is survived by her four daughters, Nina (Chris) Sweet, Tessa (Dan) Gearity, Christine Fleck and Lisa (Joe Clark) Fleck; two cherished grandchildren, Raphael Sweet and Gwen Gearity; one brother, Danny (Abbe) Mulvena and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Mary’s family will gather to receive friends on Tuesday, March 7th from 4-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. which will be celebrated in St. Bernard’s Church, 218 Hinman Street in Youngstown, with Msgr. David G. LiPuma serving as celebrant.  Prayers of committal and entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum Chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT ST. BERNARD’S CHURCH.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to honor Mary in the form of a contribution, are asked to consider the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Visiting Nursing Association of Western New York.
