Louah M. McAvoy Of Barker, NY wife of the late Wilfred McAvoy entered into rest on Sunday February 26, 2017 in Degraff Memorial. She was born in Hartland, NY on January 24, 1915, the daughter of the late Lewis and Augusta Klino Mead.

Louah was a school teacher at Barker Central School and a member of Our Lady of the Lake. NYS Teachers Retirement, Somerset Historical Society, Barker and Newfane Seniors, Rosary and Alter Society and Avon Study Club. She also enjoyed playing cards and traveling.

Mother of John (Nancy) McAvoy of Williamsburg, VA, Susan Kogler of Buffalo, NY and Luann (Jim) Smigelski of Lockport, NY. Grandmother of James (Jeannie) Kogler, Kathleen (Tom) Keefe, Alexandra (Robert) Fussell and Carolyn Smigelski. Great grandmother of Annika Kogler, Madeleine Fussell, Ian Kogler, Emmelene and Caroline Keefe. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1708 Pallister Ave, Barker, NY on TUESDAY from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on WEDNESDAY at 12 Noon in Our Lady of the Lake Parish 1726 Quaker Rd. Barker, NY. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one’s choice.
