Shirley (Modelski) Jones of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, NY. She was born in Buffalo, NY, on August 18, 1941, the daughter of Joseph P. and Veronica [Walasek] Modelski.
Mrs. Jones attended Riverside High School and graduated from both St. Mary’s Business School and Niagara County Community College. She was a secretary at Fedders Corporation and later became the secretary to the accounting manager with Western Electric. Mrs. Jones had lived in the Town of Tonawanda and Grand Island before moving to the Village of Lewiston 15 years ago. She was a member of the Kiwanis Service Guild and enjoyed going out to dinner and traveling.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas A. Jones, one son Thomas P. (Avalon) Jones, two daughters Caroline D. (Gary) Albert and Diane M. Breen, two grand daughters Grace W. Breen and Carly E. Albert.
Her family will be present on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Monday 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating.
