BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo has named Stephanie Reid and Blake Hamilton as its Athletes of the Week.

Reid continued her high level of play this past week as she led the Bulls to a 2-0 record with a road win over Eastern Michigan and a home win over Akron. The Australia native closed out her impressive week averaging 15.5 points, 9.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals as she led the Bulls in scoring in both contests. On Wednesday, Reid was the catalyst for the Bulls as they pulled out a gritty road win over EMU as she netted a team-best 14 points, eight assists and two steals across 38 minutes. On Saturday, Reid only needed 23 minutes to notch her team-leading fourth double-double of the season as she finished with a team-high 17 points, 11 assists and five rebounds in the dominant 81-51 win. The junior has now gone over the 10-assist plateau seven times, all happening within the last 15 games. Reid now leads the conference and ranks third in the NCAA in assists/game (7.5). She is averaging 10.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game this season. Her 187 assists on the year, rank third in program history for assists in a season.

Hamilton led the Bulls to a pair of wins this past week as he averaged 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game as the Bulls have now won six straight games.  Hamilton had 12 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists last Tuesday in a road victory at Central Michigan and then he finished with 23 points on Saturday in the win over Miami, including hitting a career high five three pointers.
