BUFFALO – Canisius junior midfielder Connor Kearnan has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, league officials announced on Monday.

Monday’s announcement marks the third time that Kearnan has won the award during his collegiate career. He was recognized twice (March 10 & March 21) during the 2016 campaign.

A native of Courtice, Ontario, Kearnan established career highs in goals (4), assists (5) and points (9) in leading the Griffs to a 13-8 victory over Ivy League opponent Dartmouth in their season opener Feb. 18.

Kearnan scored twice, including the first man down goal of his career, and dished out two assists in the first half before recording two goals and three assists in the final frame.

He scored the first two goals of the second half to help Canisius build a 10-4 cushion and recorded assists on the final three goals of the contest to secure the victory for the Griffs.

Canisius (1-0) returns to action Feb. 25-26 with contests against Air Force and No. 1/2 Denver at the Pioneer Faceoff Classic in Denver, Colo.
