SYRACUSE — Coming off of a 15-11 win over the Oregon Ducks Monday, the Canisius women’s lacrosse team continues its road swing Saturday afternoon when the team plays No. 5 Syracuse University from the Carrier Dome. Saturday’s game marks the sixth time the teams will be facing off, with the Orange owning a 5-0 record over the Griffs all-time. The game was originally played on Apr. 3, but was suspended due to heavy snow with the score tied at 10-10 and 6:05 remaining on the clock. The contest was later made up on May 3, with the Orange outscoring the Griffs 3-1 once play resumed.

Syracuse enters the game with a 1-0 record, having beaten No. 17 Boston College 18-8 last Saturday. In the contest, junior Riley Donahue led the Orange with seven points, scoring four times and adding three assists. In net, freshman Asa Goldstock played 58:28 of the game allowing the eight goals. After squaring off against No. 5 Syracuse Saturday afternoon, the Griffs will head home to the Demske Sports Complex to host Columbia Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. The game marks the first of six home games for the Blue and Gold in 2017.
