TOWN OF LOCKPORT — New York State Police are investigating a fatal head-on collision that occurred this morning on the Lockport Bypass.
According to police reports, Troopers responded to the head-on collision around 10:40 a.m. where they found that a 1999 Ford operated by 54-year-old Peggy L. Ray of Niagara Falls crossed the center line while traveling southbound on State Hwy 93, striking an oncoming 2005 Buick operated by 56-year-old Kelly Campbell of Lockport.
Mercy Flight took Ray to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) for serious injuries, where she was later pronounced dead. Campbell was taken to ECMC by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say this is still an ongoing investigation and there are no criminal charges at this time.
