Russell D. Wickins earned his air force and angel wings on January 30, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with many health issues.

Born in North Tonawanda and raised in Alexander, NY by Robert and Francis Wickins on March 10, 1942. Russ is now with his wife of 51 years Joan McCullough Wickins. Survived by Russell are his sister; Grace Grefath of Alexander, NY, Brother; Frank Wickins of Attica along with their spouses, his children; Susan Wolf of Lockport, NY, Rev. David (Lisa) Wickins of Akron, NY and Jennifer Wickins of Newfane, NY, 6 grandchildren; Alycia Wolf, Jasmine Wolf, Nicole Wickins, Joshua Wickins, James Ekborg Jr. and Jeminna Eckborg, great grandchildren; Mackenzie Swan, Thomas Dier along with several nieces and nephews.

Russ served in the Air Force Reserves and retired from Niagara Cutter. He was a member of the County Line United Methodist Church in Lyndonville, NY and sang in the Barber shop Quartets and Church Choirs. Russ loved fishing, camping, boating and spending time with family and grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on FRIDAY at 1PM in Somerset Cemetery. Visitation will be held on SATURDAY at the County Line United Methodist Church 1385 County Line Rd. Lyndonville, NY from 10-11AM where a Memorial service will be held at 11AM. In lieu of flowers the family as asked for donations to Alzheimer’s Association, ALZ.org.
