BUFFALO – Canisius sophomore forward Dylan McLaughlin has been named the Atlantic Hockey Conference Team Travel USA Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.

McLaughlin was also recognized by NCAA.com earlier in the day, as he was named the site’s First Star of the Week.

A native of Lancaster, McLaughlin recorded four goals and added three assists to help the Griffs record victories against Niagara and American International to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games.

In a 4-1 victory against the Purple Eagles on Jan. 24, McLaughlin scored a power-play goal and assisted on the game-winning tally. He opened the Griffs’ road series at AIC on Jan. 27 with two goals in the second period, including the game-winner, in a 4-2 triumph. McLaughlin capped his week by scoring a goal and adding two assists in a 6-1 victory over the Yellow Jackets on Jan. 28.

McLaughlin leads Canisius in both goals (10) and points (22) and is tied for the team lead in assists (12). He has recorded a point in each of the Griffs’ last seven contests, including multiple-point efforts in each of the last five games.
