HOLLAND — A 35-year-old Depew man was charged with felony DWI early Saturday morning after Erie County Sheriff’s deputies say he drove off North Main Street and nearly into a culvert.

According to Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard, James Newman failed several standard field sobriety test and was arrested following the incident. A previous DWI made the charge a felony.

Newman was released to a sober third party.
