The president of Buffalo State College released a statement regarding President Donald Trump’s executive order dealing with immigration of people from seven nations and refugees.

President Katherine S. Conway-Turner’s statement follows in its entirety:

As you probably know by now, President Trump by executive order has suspended the entry of citizens from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen into the United States. While Buffalo State College has no students, faculty, or staff members stranded by this order, 320 students across the State University of New York system are affected by the travel ban.

We affirm our commitment to diversity and equity and our unyielding stance against discrimination of all kinds, including discrimination based on religion or national origin.

We will continue to monitor the situation and support members of our community who may be affected by this order.

Please read this statement from SUNY Chancellor Zimpher and Chairman McCall regarding this matter.
