Sophomore Vivian Mroz qualified for the Zone A Diving Championships, as the Canisius diving program completed its regular season at the Fredonia Diving Invite Saturday afternoon.

Mroz, who will join teammates (senior) Brent Carbone and (junior) Travis Wright at the Championship in March, qualified with a winning score of 280.55 in the three-meter event, while freshman Vinnie Costanzo placed fourth with a score of 234.5. Mroz’s performance marked her season best score in the three-meter event.

The sophomore would go on to place third overall in the women’s one-meter event at 257.15, with freshman teammates Gianna Cornelia (234.05) and Costanzo (230.1) placed fifth and sixth respectively.

On the men’s side, Wright won both events with scores of 371.85 in the one meter and 383.85 in the three meter, collecting his highest scores of the season in each. Carbone placed second in the three meter at 312.1 and placed third in the one meter with a score of 280. Junior Josh Larcom also had a strong performance, placing fourth in the three meter with a score of 277.25.
