FREDONIA — Princella McCullough (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) had 19 points and 14 rebounds, but it was not enough as Buffalo State dropped an 81-60 decision tonight in a “Battle by the Lake” contest at Fredonia.

Mariah Rosario (Flushing/RFK) netted 15 points to go with seven rebounds to bolster the Bengals presence in the paint. Taylor Graham (Santa Rosa, CA/Maria Carrillo) added 12 points and three assists. Fredonia never trailed in the contest, running out to a 39-28 lead at halftime. The Bengals closed the gap to eight at 51-43 in the third quarter, but would not come any closer as Fredonia pulled ahead by as many as 25 in the fourth quarter. Fredonia shot 51 percent for the game and hit 10 3-pointers, outscoring the Bengals 30-18 from long range. The Blue Devils capitalized on 25 Buffalo State turnovers, converting those miscues into 32 points.
