MACHIAS — A 26-year-old Salamanca woman was charged this evening with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a 31-year-old Buffalo man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on State Route 16.
According to New York State Police, Sean Ferguson was stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation. Troopers searched the vehicle due to the smell of marijuana, finding a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle. Troopers also found the passenger, Trisha M. Fernandez, to have cocaine in her bag.
Both subjects were issued appearence tickets for the Town of Machias for February 2017.
