HAMDEN, Conn. — The Niagara University Purple Eagles women’s basketball team travels to take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats at 7 p.m. Thursday at the TD Bank Sports Center.

The Purple Eagles fell to Fairfield, 65-55, on Friday at the Gallagher Center. Victoria Rampado led all scorers with 20 points. She also brought down 12 rebounds, which was a team-high, to record her sixth double-double of the season. Kaylee Stroemple added 16 points. She has scored 15 or more points in six games so far this season. Stroemple also had seven rebounds. Stroemple and Jamie Sherburne led the Purple Eagles with four assists each. Over the course of the game, the score was tied six times and the lead changed five times.

Redshirt-junior forward Rampado leads the Purple Eagles in scoring with 16.3 points per game and in rebounding with 8.2 rebounds per game. Rampado is second in the MAAC in rebounding and fourth in scoring. Junior forward Stroemple also averages in double figure scoring with 12.8 points per game. Stroemple has the third-best field goal percentage in the MAAC; she is 95-for-180 for a percentage of 52.8. Tiffany Corselli leads Niagara in assists with a team-best 2.5 assists per game and in steals with 1.6 steals per game. Niagara is second in the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage; the team is 114-for-339 (33.6%), is third in free throw percentage (72.9%) and is fourth in the MAAC in overall field goal percentage (40.0%).

Redshirt-sophomore Jen Fay leads the Bobcats in scoring with 10.8 points per game. Fay is third in the MAAC in free throw percentage (82.7%) and has the sixth-best field goal percentage in the MAAC (50.7%). Sophomore guard/forward Aryn McClure leads the team in rebounding, averaging 6.4 rebounds per game. McClure has the third-most blocked shots in the MAAC, averaging 1.5 blocks per game. McClure and junior guard Carly Fabbri lead Quinnipiac in assists with 2.7 assists per game and Paula Strautmane, a sophomore forward, leads the team in steals with 1.8 steals per game. Strautmane is fifth in the MAAC in steals. Overall, Quinnipiac leads the conference in blocked shots (4.6 blocks per game), assists (16.8 assists per game) and steals (12.2 steals per game). Quinnipiac is also the top-scoring offense in the MAAC, averaging 70.1 points per game.

The Purple Eagles conclude their Connecticut road trip at Fairfield at 2 p.m. Sunday.
