BUFFALO — Buffalo State’s Mike Henry (Syracuse/West Genesee) was named the SUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Bengals to a pair of conference victories over the weekend.

The junior individualized studies major shot 68 percent from the field and averaged 24.0 points and 7.0 rebounds as Buffalo State (12-5, 6-5) reached 100 points in each of its two SUNYAC wins.  Henry had 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists in Friday’s 101-94 win over Oneonta, and followed it with 23 points and five boards in Saturday’s 104-67 victory against New Paltz.
With the two wins, Buffalo State broke its tie with Fredonia (8-10, 5-6) for the sixth and final spot for the SUNYAC playoffs.  The Bengals close out their regular season with seven-straight conference matchups.

Henry is second on the team, averaging 16.8 points and leads the Bengals, averaging 8.4 rebounds-per-game.

Buffalo State returns to action tomorrow at Geneseo (11-6, 6-4) at 5:30 p.m.
