Six wineries on the Niagara Wine Trail are inviting people to enjoy a little warm wine on a damp, dreary foggy day.

Participating wineries include Flight of Five Winery, Schulze Vineyards & Winery, Victorianbourg Wine Estate, Niagara Landing Wine Cellars, A Gust of Sun Winery, and Midnight Run Wine Cellars.

Each winery’s offerings for the day follow:

  • Flight of Five Winery: Red wine with hot chocolate
  • Victorianbourg Wine Estate: Vika Verzay – Always served hot, this unusual white spiced wine traditionally warms vineyard workers in winter and campers on chilly summer nights in the mountains. Pour it in a cup, zap it in the microwave, and it’ll warm you better than…
  • Schulze Vineyards & Winery: Feuerzangenbowle (German mulled wine) – Feuerzangenbowle, translate to fire tongs punch. This mulled wine originates from the area in Germany where Martin’s family was from. It is traditional for Christmas and New Years to celebrate friends and convey a notion of Gemutlichkeit (a state of warmth, friendliness and good cheer)
  • Niagara Landing Wine Cellars: Hot Mulled Port Wine
  • A Gust of Sun Winery (Ransomville & Spencerport): Spiced Westies White
  • Midnight Run Wine Cellars: Mulled Vidal Blanc white wine

All WNY is made possible thanks to coffee and sleep deprivation.
