ALLEGANY — A 25-year-old Bradford, Pa. woman was charged Tuesday with third-degree burglary, accused of stealing items from a Walmart she had previously been banned from.
According to New York State Police, Jessica L Cottone was stopped by the loss prevention associate at Walmart, having taken merchandise from the store valued at $123.94 without rendering payment.
Troopers responded and arrested Cottone. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Cottone was banned from the Walmart property due to prior incidents. The order to stay off Walmart property in conjunction with the theft, raised the crime to burglary.
Cottone was processed at SP Olean without incident and arraigned in the Town of Allegany. She was remanded to the Cattaraugus County jail on $1,000 bail with a return date is set in court for later this month.
