William G. Gillis went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2017, son of George and Celia Gillis. Beloved husband of Roberta Gillis, they were married on June 30, 1962 and enjoyed nearly 55 years together. Survived by his children William Gillis Jr., Robert (Elizabeth) Gillis, Karin Hayes, Mark Gillis, Kim (Ronald) Sample, Neil Gillis, and the late Randy Gillis, grandchildren Brendan Hayes, Shelby Hayes, Rebecca Gillis, and Britany Sample.
William worked for Brunner International, in Medina, NY as a Machine Operator, until he retired after 12 years of service. He took great pride in his work. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and traveling.
Brother of David Gillis, Jean (Richard) See, Rebecca Sullivan, and the late John and James Gillis.
Predeceased by his grandchildren Katrina Sample and Justin Hayes, and his son Randy Gillis. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present on Saturday at the Bates Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport from 3:00 to 6:00 to receive friends. A funeral service will be held at 6:00. If desired memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
