BUFFALO — The temperatures may be dropping, but the University at Buffalo’s diving team is just warming up. This Friday, the diving team welcomes UMass, UConn, Ohio University, and Niagara to the diving well for a three-day diving invitational. This will be the first time the team has seen competition since December 4th when they traveled to Akron, OH for the annual Zippy Invitational.

The Bulls have seen success across the board from the team. Most recently, the Bulls had three first-place finishes and ten top-five finished. At the Zippy Invitational, Abbey Croce placed first on the one-meter dive with a score of 285.15. Joining her in a top-five finish were Kelly Moran (246.85) and Mackenzie Moss (237.35) who placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Also placing first at the meet were Troy Birdsall and Kristian Santos. Birdsall took first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 367.55, and Santos took first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 326.60; both scores broke meet records. Nick Rodriguez saw two top-five finishes; placing second in the 3-meter and fourth in the 1-meter dive with scores of 331.05 and 282.30, respectively. Mackenzie Moss was the lone Bull to place in the top-five on the women’s three-meter; nabbing a third place finish with a score of 280.25.

The meet is set to begin Friday at 12pm with the women’s 3-meter and men’s 1-meter.
