Sr. M. Patrice Holahan, OSF of Stella Niagara, NY, passed away on January 9, 2017. She was born in Syracuse, NY on May 21, 1922, the daughter of the late James and Esther [Pierson] Holahan.

Sister Patrice entered the Sisters of St. Francis in September 1940 and was professed August 18, 1942.

Sister Patrice attended the Seminary of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School (Stella Niagara), , then Rosary Hill (Daemen) College in Amherst, NY for her Bachelors and Rosary College in River Forest, Illinois for her Masters. She was an educator and librarian and served at schools in Buffalo and Warsaw, NY, and in Columbus, Ohio. Before retiring to the Health Center at Stella Niagara, in September 2010,  Sister volunteered at Crisis Services of WNY, St. John Eudes Center and AIDS Family Services.

She is survived by her sisters in community, several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Sister will be waked TODAY from 3-7 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7PM, at Stella Niagara, 4421 Lower River Road, Stella Niagara, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 AM in the Sister’s Chapel at Stella Niagara.
