Former City of Lockport Mayor, Thomas C. Rotondo, Jr., passed away on Saturday December 31, 2016 in Niagara Hospice House. Born on April 25, 1932 in Lockport, he was the son of Thomas A. and Catherine Snyder Rotondo. Tom was a class officer graduating in 1950 in the first graduating class of DeSales Catholic High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. Tom was the proprietor of Rotondo’s Grocery, served as an 8th Ward Alderman and was the only elected 5 term Mayor of the City of Lockport.

Tom was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a Eucharistic Minister and President of the Parish Council at the former St. Anthony’s RC Church. He was a former member of the American Legion, VFW, Housing Authority Board, Salvation Army Advisory Board, Rotary Club and Girl Scouts of America. He was the recipient of many awards for his distinguished leadership from various organizations.

Tom is the beloved husband of Anna Marie Giansante Rotondo whom he married on November 27, 1954; loving father of Lisa (Jim) Budde, Mary Catherine (Jeff) St. Onge, Linda (Tim) Lederhaus and Annie (Martin) Hall; grandfather of Nicole St. Onge (Greg) Hagan, Ashley St. Onge (Chip) Buck and Caitlin and Ciaran Hall; great grandfather of Colton Hagan; brother of Barbara Seefeldt (Bob) Pool, Rosemary (James) Sullivan and the late Joseph (Mary Ann) Rotondo and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM from St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Please assemble at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc. or Rock Steady Boxing at the Palms of Largo (for Parkinson’s disease), 400 Lake Ave. NE, Largo, FL 33771. Entombment in Glenwood Cemetery.
