NIAGARA FALLS — A 33-year-old Niagara Falls woman was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Highland Avenue.

According to New York State Police, Fredia Thornton was stopped after the vehicle she was operating crossed over to the wrong side of the road. Following the stop, Thornton stated she was coming from a bar and Troopers determined her to be intoxicated. She was taken to the Niagara Troopers’ barracks where she was found to have a .15 percent blood alcohol content.

She was issued appearance tickets returnable in the City of Niagara Falls Court.
