BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo has named junior point guard Stephanie Reid and men’s basketball player Blake Hamilton as its Athletes of the Week.

Reid had a great week for the Bulls as she guided UB to a 2-1 record. The Australia native averaged 11.3 points, 8.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds as she had three strong games in a row. On Thursday, Reid netted a season-high 21 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists and four steals as the Bulls downed Fordham. In the Bulls first loss of the season to Harvard, Reid finished with eight points, a season-high 10 assists and three rebounds. In UB’s MAC opener, the junior was the best player on the court as she netted five points, 10 assists and two rebounds in just 23 minutes of work. This marks the first time in her UB career that Reid has recorded back-to-back 10 assist games. With her 24-assist week, Reid moved into ninth place on UB’s all-time assists list with 315 career assists in the Blue and White.

Blake Hamilton led the Bulls to a 79-60 victory over Maine on Friday night in UB’s final non-conference game of the year.  Hamilton had 15 points, nine rebounds, and three assists in just 22 minutes of action.  Hamilton was one of four players in double figures for the Bulls.  Hamilton has now scored in double figures in nine of Buffalo’s last 10 games this season and he leads the Bulls in scoring at 17.2 points per game.
