LOUDONVILLE — The Niagara University women’s basketball team will take on the Siena Saints at 7 p.m. Monday at Alumni Recreation Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 3.

In their final game of 2016, the Purple Eagles were defeated by MAAC opponent Saint Peter’s, 78-66. Victoria Rampado led Niagara in scoring with 22 points and in rebounding with a season-high 13 rebounds, recording her third consecutive double-double and fourth overall double-double on the season so far. Rampado has scored 20 or more points in five games this season. Tiffany Corselli led the team in steals with three and Rampado had a team-best four assists. Morgan Baughman added a career-high 13 points and Jai Moore recorded a career-high two steals.

Redshirt-junior forward Rampado leads the Purple Eagles in scoring with 17.1 points per game and in rebounding with 8.1 rebounds per game. Rampado leads the MAAC in rebounding and is second in scoring. Junior forward Stroemple and senior guard Corselli also average in double figure scoring. Stroemple averages 11.3 points per game and Corselli averages 10.2 points per game. Stroemple has the third-best field goal percentage in the MAAC; she is 53-for-96 for a percentage of 55.2. Freshman guard Baughman is second in the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage (42.4%). Niagara leads the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage; the team is 75-for-206 (36.4%).
The Purple Eagles are second in the MAAC in field goal percentage (41.7%), second in assists (15.2 per game) and are the fifth-highest scoring offense (62.1 points per game).

Sophomore guard Jackie Benitez leads the Saints in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game. She ranks fourth in the MAAC in scoring. Benitez also leads the team in steals with 2.6 per game and is tied for third-most steals in the MAAC. Benitez has the best free throw percentage (82.2%) in the MAAC and has the most 3-point field goals made (35 total, 2.9 per game). Senior forward Meghan Donohue averages a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game. Donohue leads the MAAC in field goal percentage; she is 61-for-101 for a percentage of 60.4. Overall, the Saints are third in free throw percentage (71.0%), fourth in blocked shots (3.5 per game), fourth in steals (9.3 per game) and are the fourth-highest scoring offense (62.8 points per game).

The Purple Eagles return home to host Quinnipiac for Kids Day on Thursday at 11 a.m.
