It’s not an uncommon position that 2016 was the worst year in generations for the entertainment industry — not in what it lacked, but in what we lost.

It started with David Bowie, Alan Rickman and Glen Frey in January. It didn’t stop. As the year wore on, social media cried out, “Why, 2016? Just stop!” It was like we were all watching a horror movie but instead of actors and actresses dying on screen, they were dying in real life — and we couldn’t turn it off.

Add in the election, Brexit, and other “scary” news from 2016 and the horror movie analogy was probably easy to come up with … at least for Friend Dog Studios, a comedy trio composed of Brian Huther, Ben Auxier, and Seth Macchi. Their YouTube channel includes a few “Drunk Trump” videos you may have seen before, the most popular of which was “Your Drunk Neighbor: Donald Trump,” but in two short days, “2016: The Movie (Trailer)” has nearly caught up with the 1.3 million views of what was their most popular video to date.

Shot like a real-live horror movie, the video likely include a couple conversations you, yourself have had.

No worries, folks. There’s only 27 hours until 2016 ends.
