DELEVAN — A 25-year-old Buffalo man was charged Monday with false personation.

According to New York State Police, during a welfare check investigation on North Main Street, Ryan J. Thompson provided Troopers with a false name in an attempt to conceal the fact that he had a valid New York State parole warrant. The Troopers determined that Thompson was lying about his identity when he misspelled his false last name.

Thompson was arraigned in the Town of Yorkshire Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail.

He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Yorkshire Court on Jan. 12.
