Ruth F. Niederhofer, 90, passed away peacefully on Wed., Dec. 7, 2016 at Twin Oaks Health & Rehab in Lansing, Kan. She was born on Jan. 29, 1926 in Gardenville, N.Y. to Arthur and Susanna Ribeiro. She married Robert Niederhofer on July 14, 1945. After cottaging in Waterport for many years, they moved there in 1968.

She retired from the Albion school system, where she worked doing one of the things she loved – feeding people. She was an active member of the Carlton Methodist Church until she moved to Leavenworth, Kan. in 2011.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, James; her brothers, Arthur and Edward ­­­­­­­­­­Ribeiro; her sister, Edna Reuter; and her nephew, John Reuter Jr.

She is survived by her sons, William (Sue) and Arthur (Rose) Niederhofer; daughter-in-law, Valerie Niederhofer; nieces, Elaine (Lynn) Miller and Sandra Ribeiro; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters. She will be missed by all of us.
