Salvatore A. Nocera, age 75, of Gasport, known as Sonny by his family and Sam by friends, entered into rest on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Bativia. Born June 29, 1941 in Lockport, Salvatore is the son of the late John M. and Genevieve Michela “Maggie” (D’Auria) Nocera.
Salvatore served his country in the US Army during the 1960s and was a disabled veteran. He was married to his beloved wife Phyllis Cutway who had passed away in 2005. He is survived by his children: Anthony (Nicki) Nocera, Johnathon (Elizabeth) Nocera and daughter Erin. He was the proud and loving grandfather to: Katie, Jodi, Alivia, Daniel, Wyatt, and Lucian; great grandfather to: Jacoby and Bella. His brothers: Jack (Lois) Nocera and Rick (Kathy) Nocera. Besides his wife and parents, Salvatore was predeceased by his youngest brother, David Nocera.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Tuesday, December 6th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Stephen’s R.C. Cemetery, Middleport, NY.
