NIAGARA UNIV. — The Purple Eagles hockey team returns to Dwyer Arena this weekend for its first two-game home series since Oct. 28 and 29. After closing the month of November with a record of 2-2-1 in its last five games, Niagara takes on the RIT Tigers at 7:05 p.m. on both Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3.

Friday’s game will be locally televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and can be seen live in the Buffalo and Rochester markets on channels 52 and 323, with Dave Miller and Chris Panek calling the game. The game will be replayed state-wide at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Fans can also watch both of this weekend’s contests on AtlanticHockey.tv. Paul Hamilton has the play-by-play call on 1340 AM WLVL.

On Saturday, Niagara will be partaking in a Teddy Bear Toss to benefit the Niagara Falls Firefighters Christmas Toy Fund. Fans are highly encouraged to bring a teddy bear or other soft, plush toy to the game and throw it on the ice when the Purple Eagles score their first goal of the game. Any other toys appropriate for children ages 12 and under can be placed in collection bins outside the Dwyer Arena ticket office. Any toy donation includes $5 off the ticket price to Saturday’s game or to a future Niagara hockey game this season.
