NIAGARA UNIV. — The Niagara University Department of Athletics has partnered with the Niagara Falls Firefighters Christmas Toy Fund for a Toy Drive to take place at upcoming Niagara University athletics events during the month of December. Toy collections will take place at the Niagara hockey game on Dec. 3 at 7:05 p.m. versus RIT and the Niagara men’s basketball game on Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. versus Norfolk State.

Fans who bring any toy appropriate for children 12 and under will receive $5 off the ticket price for that night’s contest. If fans have already purchased a ticket for the game, they are eligible to receive the same discount off of a ticket to a future game.

At the Dec. 3 hockey game, fans are highly encouraged to bring teddy bears or other soft, plush toys to the arena to participate in a Teddy Bear Toss. When the Purple Eagles score their first goal of the game, fans can toss their toy on the ice, where it will be collected for donation to the Niagara Falls Firefighters Christmas Toy Fund. All other toys may be placed in collection bins located at the Dwyer Arena ticket office.

The toy collection for the Dec. 10 men’s basketball game will take place in conjunction with the program’s Alumni Weekend festivities. More information on Alumni Weekend activities and registration can be found on the Niagara University Alumni Engagement website.
