PENDLETON — Starpoint School District has enacted a “lockout” while the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office is checking on the welfare of a subject near the school.

Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour said via Twitter that the lockout is merely a precaution while NCSO checks on the person about 5 miles from the school. No individuals will be permitted to enter the buildings, however students will maintain normal activities during the lockout.
