HOLLAND – A 58-year-old Sardinia man was arrested Saturday morning on drug-related charges, accused of selling drugs during his newspaper delivery route.

According to Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard, deputies acted upon an anonymous tip that Douglas Lukehart was selling drugs while delivering his papers. Around 6 a.m. Saturday, deputies saw Lukehart violate New York vehicle and traffic law on Olean Road in the Town of Holland  and initiated a traffic stop. An ECSO deputy and K9 Haso searched the vehicle and Haso made positive alerts on a stack of newspapers, where the deputy then found a bag of marijuana.

Lukehart was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, and several vehicle and traffic violations.  The defendant was later released on appearance tickets for Holland Town Court.
