BUFFALO — Canisius College women’s lacrosse head coach Scott Teeter announced the addition of seven players to the 2017 Golden Griffin roster on Tuesday.

“We are very excited with this incoming class,” Teeter said. “They are adjusting to the speed of Division I Lacrosse and are making us deeper at every position. They have all been competing for starting jobs this fall, which is phenomenal.”

The seven newcomers (five freshman and two transfers) join 19 returning letter winners from the 2016 campaign, which saw the Griffs win the their fifth MAAC Championship in six years over Monmouth 17-5. The Griffs went a perfect 8-0 in MAAC play for a second straight season, before eventually losing to Cornell 15-11 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Earned four letters at Cicero-North Syracuse High School • Was named team captain, all-county, and all-league during her high school career • Recorded 88 goals and 132 assists in her four years at Cicero-North Syracuse.

Riley Lucarelli • D
Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster High School
Was a four year member of the Lancaster High School lacrosse team • Collected 115 ground balls and six goals during her career, while playing in a face guard role during her senior season with the Legends • Was the recipient of the Bill Kling Top Female Athlete Award at Lancaster in 2016 • Named to the All-WNY First Team and ECIC First Team in 2015 and 2016 • Selected Lancaster’s top defender in 2015 and 2016 • Winner of the Tom Borreli Women’s Lacrosse “Ox Award” in 2016 • Named rookie of the year at Lancaster in 2013 • Won four straight Class A Section VI Championships from 2013-16.

Member of the Relentless Hustle lacrosse program • Four-year letter winner in soccer and softball at the School of the Arts • Member of the National Honor Society and Society of Chemical Achievement during high school.

Rachel Ryan • M

Four-year letter winner at Hilton High School • Team captain during her junior and senior seasons • Team MVP her sophomore, junior, and senior season • First team all-county all four years • Led greater Rochester in goals her senior year with 92 on 116 points • Totaled 356 points on 242 goals and 114 assists during her career at Hilton • Named a part of Under Armour’s All-American Team and played in the Herb Finch Senior All-Star Game.

Brighton, N.Y./Brighton High School
Earned four letters at Brighton High School • First Team All-County her junior and senior seasons • Named an Academic All-American • Was also a member of the Brighton cross country and basketball teams during her high school career.

Clarissa Perry • M/A
Sackets Harbor, N.Y./LeMoyne College
Four year letter winner at South Jefferson High School • Spent one year at LeMoyne College before transferring to Canisius • All-star and all-north team member from 2012 to 2015 • Recorded 205 goals and 68 assists during her career at South Jefferson • Named to the Under Armour All-American Underclassmen team in 2012 • Brine All-American in 2014 • Also a four year member of the South Jefferson basketball program.

Jen Reininger • M
Irondequoit, N.Y./Syracuse University
Was a member of the West Irondequoit women’s lacrosse program for four seasons • Member of the Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team in 2015 & 2016 • Named a 2014 All-American • Collected an Academic All-American Award in 2013 • Two-time All-Greater Rochester First Team selection (2013 & 2014) • Two-time team MVP at West Irondequoit • Team captain for the Eagles in 2014.
