WHEATFIELD — A 36-year-old Wheatfield woman was charged this evening with drugged driving, endangering the welfare of a child, and other crimes following a motor vehicle crash on Niagara Falls Boulevard.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an incident around 5:13 p.m. in which a man says his vehicle was rear-ended at the intersection of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Williams Road, then the striking vehicle left the scene. The man who says he was hit followed the striking vehicle southbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard until deputies responded.

Deputies found Erin Clothier driving the vehicle alleged to have struck the man. Her 6-year-old son who was in the rear passenger seat. No one involved in the accident reported any injuries.

While the deputies were interviewing Clothier, it was determined she was impaired by drugs. She was subsequently charged for felony driving while ability impaired by drugs (Leandra’s Law Violation), endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, along with several other vehicle and traffic charges. She was remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $750 Bail.
