FILLMORE — A 28-year-old Fillmore man was charged Monday afternoon with second-degree criminal contempt for violating an order of protection.
According to New York State Police, Allegany County Child Protective Services conducted a home visit to the residence of Wayne R. Gath. While there, the CPS agent noted three long guns in the home. The CPS agent knew that Gath was issued an order of protection, temporarily prohibiting him from possessing fire arms. The CPS agent then notified Troopers.
Upon interview and investigation, Gath was determined to be in possession of three long guns and charged. He was processed at SP Amity and arraigned in the Town of Allen court before being released on his own recognizance to reappear in the Town of Allen court.
