James A. Carroll of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at  his residence. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on May 14, 1934, the son of the late Harold E. and Winifred A. [Fix] Carroll.

Mr. Carroll was a foreman with Schreck’s Iron and Metal for 27 years and later employed with the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant for 18 years, before retiring in 1999.
He loved driving and taking care of his 1929 Ford Model A and enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and NASCAR.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife of 64 years Beverly [Lindy] Carroll, two daughters Barbara (Nelson) Haseley and Mary E. Carroll, a daughter in law Joyce Carroll, one sister MariAnne (Salvatore) Santa Lucia, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late James A. Carroll.

His family will be present on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM, with the Rev. James W. Kirkpatrick officiating. Mr. Carroll donated his body to the University of Buffalo School of Medicine.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Peter’s Lutheran School, Sanborn or to Niagara Hospice.
