TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Three Lockport men who apprehended a man accused of robbing a woman will be honored at a ceremony Friday morning at the Town of Lockport Court.

The 10 a.m. ceremony will honor Daniel Bronson, Patrick Ellinger Jr. and Patrick Ellinger III, who chased the would-be thief from a Lockport business on Nov. 5 and held him until police arrived.

According to NYSP, on Nov. 4, Matthew Biles age 31, pushed an 87-year-old female victim to the ground while she entered a local establishment off Robinson Road. The victim sustained a broken left arm, possible fractured nose and multiple abrasions. The victim’s purse with personal identification was taken along with credit cards and cash. Then Biles ran in the direction of Woodland Trailer Park in the Town of Lockport.

The following day, at 8:25 pm, a 73-year-old female victim was exiting the same establishment off Robinson Road, Biles took the victims purse and ran. Bronson and the Ellinger men witnessed the robbery and chased Biles, restraining him until police arrived.

Biles, 31 of Lockport, was charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree robbery.
